Description
Escape NYC with the Global Student Club & The Cooperate Social Responsibility Club for a day picking raspberries and pumpkin at Westward Orchards and then celebrate Navratri* at the Bharatiya Mandir.
Arrive by 11:30. Pick raspberry and pumpkin and have pizza lunch. Depart Westward Orchards around 3:00 p.m.
- Arrive at the temple by 4:00 p.m.
- 4.30 - 30 mins. of dance Garbha and Dandia lessons
- 5:00 - Garbha Event
- 6:30 - A small puja as it is "Navami" (Navami is the ninth day of the fortnight on the Hindu lunar calendar)
- Arti and dinner
Will depart the Mandir to the city at 8:30 p.m.
* Navaratri is a festival dedicated to the worship of the Hindu deity Durga. The word Navaratri means 'nine nights' in Sanskrit, "nava" meaning nine and "ratri" meaning nights. During these nine nights and ten days, nine forms of Devi are worshipped.
